Double Reed Delight Perfect for Double Reed Days
Over the last few years there have been more Double Reed Days popping up all over the country. As a result, there has been more of a demand for Double Reed Choir music. Back in 2016, I was asked to write a piece for the 2017 Fresno Double Reed Day. They wanted a piece that featured popular orchestral excerpts for oboe and bassoon with a surprise ending. So I decided to feature solos from Beethoven 6, Rite of Spring, Peter and the Wolf and a surprise ending of the theme from 2001 space odyssey. This is a fun short piece that can be easily put together in one rehearsal for a double reed day or camp.
